Our History
Hydrocarbon Products Company, “Hypco S.A.L”, was first established in 1965 and has been growing for more than 45 years. Our years of experience have always helped us rise successfully within an ever-changing market. Our oil activities started in 1963 in Beirut, Lebanon evolving from grain and asphalt trading to a more specialized fro of trading.
Hypco remains a dynamic, privately owned, independent, oil distribution company.
At Hypco, we view change as an opportunity, not simply a challenge, redefining business opportunities is jow we remain engaged in the business of trade.
The New Brand Identity
In 2008, Hypco vamped up its image, geared toward modernizing its branding identity.
The aim was to transition Hypco from a commodity-focused to a service-oriented brand that always exceeds customers’ expectations. Indeed, Hypco provided a service to local communities, placing it at the heart of daily life in the area.
We wanted to encapsulate the brand values of fairness, service, excellence, honest and quality, establishing Hypco as a prominent regional player. By more effectively communicating our goals and ideals throughout the area, we hope to facilitate higher levels of growth, keeping faithful customers and engaging perspective clients.
MPC: Mediterranean Petroleum Company
MPC is one of the oldest oil companies operating in Lebanon. It was established in 1934.
MPC concentrates its activities mainly into importation, storage, terminals’ operation, and bulk sales to other Lebanese oil companies. MPC owns and operates Antelias terminal, and operates Jieh terminal, both with a total capacity of 82000 M3.
B.B energy
B.B Energy is a dynamic, privately owned oil trading group with offices in London, Dubai, Singapore, Athens, Beirut and Rotterdam, enabling it to cover the market around the clock. Established in 1963 in Beirut as a Commodities and Asphalt trading business, it soon transitioned to the oil market, establishing itself as an international Energy Company, trading with commodities, crude oil, oil products and Bitumen, and actively involved in transportation, downstream distribution, terminating, storage and crude processing. At sunrise every morning B.B Energy cargoes load and unload in ports all over the world. B.B Energy is currently laying down the ground work for an imminent entrance into the field of LNG/NG by working jointly with many long existing customers. It is this long terms allegiance of all counter-parties to B.B Energy that gives the group a strong sense of trust and respect, permitting it to be a highly respected independent oil trading company.

Hypcos Future Outlook
The service station industry in the region provides an attractive opportunity for investors in energy who are seeking to expand their presence in this geographic domain.
Major changes and reforms are sweeping the region as sector regulation, privatization and modernization invigorate it. The oil industry demands a major economic revitalization that requires both experience and capital, to upgrade receiving terminals and distribution networks.
However, what is perceived as a politically volatile climate, coupled with particular business traditions and ethics, appear to stave off multinational corporate faints from investing in the downstream sector.
